Group Volunteers

If you are a large group interested in volunteering, you can sign up for multiple positions OR volunteer to host family friendly activities through Salt Lake County by filling out this form.

Food Distribution

Youth Meals: Interact with the market's youngest (and smiliest) visitors! Assist in the distribution of our free kid's lunches before the start of the market.

Food Pantry Assistant: SFM now operates a food pantry that distributes primarily unprocessed food staples. As the Food Pantry Volunteer, you will assist in emergency food assistance distribution and help representatives of each household complete the sign-in form and understand the food pantry guidelines.

New Roots Farm Stand

A fast pace position at the market, our farm stand hands will be working with New Roots farmers and Sunnyvale staff to run produce from coolers to visitors at the New Roots farm stand. Some assistance on iPads may be necessary for our newer farmers still working on their technological skills. You must be at least 16 years old.

Can't make it on Saturday's but still interested in volunteering? Stop by the office and pick up flyers to distribute to areas within our outreach plan and within your network.

The following positions have additional requirements:

Benefits Distribution

As a benefit distributor, you will be interacting closely with customers who are eligible to receive food benefits and will gather pertinent information necessary for tracking purposes. Many of our benefit recipients don't speak English or speak it as a second language, so patience and understanding is a must for these volunteers. Volunteers in this position must be available at least 2 Saturdays a month for at least three months. You must be at least 16 years old for this role.

As this position handles legal tender, we are required to background check all volunteers in this role. The background check is all done online and is prompted by the IRC development team, but we do request a $45 donation to cover that cost. If you are interested in this opportunity, please email  to talk about next steps in getting that background check started.

In the age where content rules all, we are looking for local photographers interested in stopping by and capturing the magic of the Sunnyvale Farmers Market. All photos shared and used by the market will be credited back to the photographer.  Contact  to sign up for this position.
